About
Melanie’s love of photography appeared when she was young. She never pursued it until 1999 when she was hired by Princess Cruises as a cruise ship photographer to which she stayed aboard for over two years.After sailing the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Melanie believed it was time to get formal training at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology which she graduated in 2003 with a diploma in Photography Technology. Upon graduation she has been a member of good stand in the Professional Photographers of Canada-Alberta chapter. In 2005, she was awarded the Fuji Masterpiece Award for Portraiture.
Melanie is a people person who believes in capturing the inner spirit and soul of the person that she is photographing. Portraiture and wedding photography is her forte but she has no problem getting her hands dirty and trying something new.

Proudest Moment: Getting through a stage show perfectly on opening night

Alarm Clock: 2 1/2 year child
Perfect Day: Coffee, Mexican omelette with the crossword in flannel pj’s.

Name something you always wanted to do: Go to India to see where my grandmother was born.
